The Library of Throal

Introduction
"For many years the Library of Throal has kept written account of the tales and stories told by the people of Barsaive. Records stored deep within the Library archives are still, but recently, coming to light. And, as can be said of almost all such stories, the truth woven within their words is often not immediately obvious to the listener. Such legends are important to Barsaive as a nation. For many races they serve as the central repository of knowledge, a racial consciousness if you will, that passes down from generation to generation, instilling the fire of hope in the hearts and minds of young and old alike. The King has decreed that the information held in these documents should be translated for all to read. That is our task now, and we accept this burden with the grace and solemnity required." -- Thorqan Darmnal, Dwarf Scholar and Custodian of the Library of Throal

The Library of Throal is a Net Project with submissions from the Patrons of the Earthdawn Mailing List, amongst others. Thanks is extended in advance to everybody contributing their time and resources to make the Library of Throal a valuable resource to the Net Earthdawn Gaming Community. Direct your email regarding this repository to: throal-library@ellipsis.net.nz (please remove the obvious "spam block content" from the email address before sending).

Stories of New (and Other Documents of Interest)
"Once each year, adventurers and heroes make an often arduous journey to the Library of Throal. There they give up their notebooks and journals to the keepers and translators and depart a little richer for their troubles. The King has decreed that these records should, like the histories of old, be made available to everyone in Barsaive to read and marvel over. Stories of adversity overcome through heroic deeds make fine reading indeed for those who don't always appreciate the art of the older tales. And if the message in these Adventurer Journals is interpreted in a positive light, particularly when raising the status of the peoples of Barsaive, then so much the better for the effort..." -- Thorqan Darmnal, Dwarf Scholar and Custodian of the Library of Throal
Add Magnificence To Your Melee : "When I first saw this treatise I thought it some spurious manifest, possibly of Theran origin. However, in its words I find a strangely compelling urge to pick up my staff and have at my more combative colleagues with verve and gusto! Huzzah!" -- Thorqan Darmnal, Dwarf Scholar and Custodian of the Library of Throal
B'Hatrak - A Game of the Obsidimen : "Obsidimen are considerable gamers, possessing patience in abundance, a necessary thing for players of this particular board game. My introduction to this document says it all..." -- Thorqan Darmnal, Dwarf Scholar and Custodian of the Library of Throal
Death's Retreat : Notes, participating characters and diaries for an Earthdawn campaign can be found here, including The Making of Legends.
Grimoire of Fadosh Four-Finger : "This document was submitted by an acquaintance of Fadosh. As to significance, it appears to be a simple description of an adept's beginning and spell knowledge. Of course, the adept is an Illusionist, and this document could be concealing something of greater importance..." -- Thorqan Darmnal, Dwarf Scholar and Custodian of the Library of Throal
Poems by Laurant : "Laurant, a T'skrang Swordmaster documents his travels through Barsaive by way of poetry. Here are some samples of his work. The reader is welcome to draw his or her own conclusions as to the value of his words..." -- Thorqan Darmnal, Dwarf Scholar and Custodian of the Library of Throal
Prograth's Journal : "Some of the terminology used in this journal may appear strange as written. I have taken the liberty to mark unrecognised dates and comments where I can not reconcile them with the journal proper. Oh, and enjoy the way the author moves from lengthy detailed narrative to short abbreviation - a Windling trait perhaps?" -- Thorqan Darmnal, Dwarf Scholar and Custodian of the Library of Throal
The Darkbreach House in Vorst Society : "The members of the house Darkbreach play a significant role in the Vorst society. They are the defenders, and the law enforcers of the Vorst." -- From the Records of The Eye of Throal
The Storm Wolves Journals : The complete and ongoing diaries and notes of the long-running Storm Wolves campaign.

Stories of Old
"Some works have completed translation and are now on display in the public vestibule. Please take your time and peruse the texts thoroughly. Much care has been taken in ensuring the accuracy of the translation. however some errors may have crept into our work. Should this be the case, then you should notify me at your nearest convenience -- preferably before the Head Archivist finds out..." -- Thorqan Darmnal, Dwarf Scholar and Custodian of the Library of Throal
Of Soul Crystals, Crystalline Horrors and The Journal of Orman : "The theoretical existence of 'soul crystals' has been highly debatable since the discovery of the document entitled The Journal of Orman. The pertinent parts of said document will be included here for ease of analysis..." -- Darron Nedger, Archivist to the Library of Throal
Thenros Mine : "Another treatise relating to the activities of Crystal Horrors. Perhaps there may be some adventurers brave (or foolish) enough to look for this abandoned mine. I wonder, however, whether the reward would meet the effort..." -- Thorqan Darmnal, Dwarf Scholar and Custodian of the Library of Throal
