Prologue: A Lord's Demise
Great Britain, 1872: The nation works under the auspices of the Steam Lords, unwittingly serving the long term goals of the Unseelie to eradicate the whole of Human-kind. Even in the halls of power, in Parliament itself, the fingers of the Dark Host reach out from the shadows and place themselves around the necks of those who rule Britain from their benches of oak...

A Summarised Plotline
With Notation and Possible Consquences Considered
Lord Torquay is a notable gambler, not altogether a successful gambler, however.
Last week, Lord Torquay paid off all his gambling debts.
Lady Torquay, separated from Lord Torquay for over a year, has reconciled with him.
Lady Torquay is often seen in public, but is not her normally talkative self.
Lady Torquay is noted to wear less fashionable clothing than she is known for, and to be quite liberal with her application of makeup and perfumes.
Lord Torquay has recently been promoted to the bench of Parliament. This followed after the opening last month of his new factory complex in Suddlebury. The factory produces components for the railway industry.
Lord Torquay has been seen in recent days dining with the noted Steam Lord Montague. They seemed to be quite amicable, a mjor change from their eraly relationship which was known to be openly antagonistic.
Lady Torquay has on occasion been seen about the city on walks unattended by anyone, not even a valet or chauffeur. Her walks often take her past London Cemetery. One witness even claims to have seen her enter one of the mausoleums close to the cemetary's north entrance!
One of the character's has in his or her possession an heirloom, a golden pin, apparently very old and of Greco-Roman origin. This pin is often worn as an accessory. It is, in fact, a useful focus for both the Summoning and Banishment spells in the Grand Librum of Meta-Physik and Transferences of Corum the Adept.
On an excursion, four to six Rogues will attempt to steal the pin from the character who owns it, in order to take it to Travis Sableford. If beaten, they do not know the true name of the man who sent them. They will not kill the character, merely get the pin.
Strange bat-like flying or gliding creatures have been seen in the vicinity of the remote village of Suddlebury.
Baron von Neudorf is acting as a go-between for the Prussian government with Lord Torquay. He is staying with Lord Torquay at this estate outside Suddlebury, where he is helping with the operation of the factory complex.
Several Prussian Fliegen-Troopen (Flying Troops) are also secretly stationed at the factory for the testing program of the Flying Apparatus.
Travis Sableford, the younger son of General Sableford, one of Britain's finest military men, has been seen dining with Lord Torquay.
Travis Sableford is not one of the more popular young men in London's social circles. Rumour speaks, in low whispers of course, of his peculiar sexual preferences. There is also a case, not proven, involving the unfortunate death of an elderly prostitute in mysterious circumstances. Apparently Travis was seen in her company not long before her naked and mutilated body was found floating in the Thames river.
Travis Sableford is staying with Lord Torquay in Suddlebury. He has killed and re-animated about fifty of the local villagers to work in Lord Torquay's factory.
Travis Sableford has used the Summoning ritual detailed in the Grand Librum of Meta-Physik and Transferences of Corum the Adept to summon and bind small Demonic Imps from another dimension into the Flying Apparatus being created and tested in Lord Torquay's factory.
The Flying Apparatus is a strange contraption kept aloft mainly due to the Demonic Imps that Travis Sableford has bound into the brass riveted framework. It is best described as a glider harness built around a rectangular frame, with a multitude of small and carefully crafted propellors attached to the rig in a vertical position. The bound demon provides the rig with additional lift, neutralising, in conjunction with the propellors, the pull of gravity and providing some limited directional capability.
The Flying Appartus is to be mass-produced and sold to Prussia to create elite units of Prussian Fliegen-Troopen - flying assault troops - which can be used to land behind enemy positions.
Travis Sableford has found that he requires larger imps in order to properly interact with the Flying Apparatus. This information he has not imparted to Lord Torquay. Unfortunately steam technology of a sufficiently portable nature isn't available to power the apparatus, hence the magical approach to a solution.
Prussian Fliegen-Troopen not stationed at the factory as guards can be found patrolling Lord Torquay's mansion.
In the cellar of Lord Torquay's house is Travis Sableford's summoning circle. He will be found here in the process of summoning a Nasty Demonic Imp. He will be using the pin, if the Rogues were successful in stealing it. Should he be interrupted, then the Nasty Demonic Imp will break free and attack Travis Sableford, possibly killing him. The wicked creature will then turn on anyone else in the room, before returning to it's home dimension, leaving behind an odour of cinnamon and sulphur. The spell of Banishment may prove useful here (the Grand Librum of Meta-Physik and Transferences of Corum the Adept is here on a dais from which Travis Sableford reads).
If pushed too hard, Lord Torquay will defend himself, duelling if necessary in defence of his actions.
Baron Gravis von Neudorf and any remaining Prussian Fliegen-Troopen will escape to his upstairs chambers, where the Fliegen-Troopen will thwart the character while Baron Gravis von Neudorf uses the only working prototype of the Flying Apparatus to escape out the window. The apparatus has enough travel capability to take him to the nearby woods, where he has an automobile safely hidden.
The undead factory workers will continue to work at their tasks until they are physically unable to do so. Just because Travis Sableford is dead (if he is) does not mean that the villagers are...
Lady Torquay is, of course, also (un)dead. A search of the Torquay family mausoleum in the London Cemetery will find her coffin, inside of which is her body. A wardrobe of clothes, plus a makeup kit provide additional evidence. Her body, in an un-perfumed state, smells of the grave.
Steam Lord Montague will, of course, deny any involvement with Lord Torquay's activities. He will note the involvement of the characters, however...
